Here’s the full squad breakdown, team by team.

Birmingham Phoenix Squad

Ellyse Perry takes the armband for a Phoenix side that leans on her all round pedigree more than any single overseas signing. Tammy Beaumont and Emma Lamb give the top order genuine solidity, and with Fatima Sana in the bowling group, Birmingham have added a new cutting edge with the new ball.

All rounders: Ellyse Perry, Alice Capsey, Alana King, Jemima Spence, Esmae MacGregor, Annerie Dercksen, Eve O’Neill

Bowlers: Linsey Smith, Lauren Filer, Eva Gray, Fatima Sana, Kayla Reneke

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

London Spirit Squad

Charlie Dean captains a Spirit squad built on all round balance rather than one standout name, with Nadine de Klerk and Marizanne Kapp both capable of shifting a game with bat or ball. Amy Jones remains the trusted gloveman behind the stumps, and Spirit’s middle order carries real power through Grace Harris.

Batswomen: Grace Harris, Deandra Dottin, Sterre Kalis, Marie Kelly, Liv Barnes, Katie George, Hannah Rainey

All rounders: Nadine de Klerk, Marizanne Kapp, Charlie Dean, Trudy Johnson

Manchester Super Giants Squad

Meg Lanning’s arrival at the top gives Super Giants a captain with as much white ball pedigree as anyone in the competition, and pairing her with Smriti Mandhana creates one of the more dangerous opening combinations in the tournament. Sophie Ecclestone’s spin remains the side’s biggest weapon through the middle overs.

Batswomen: Meg Lanning, Smriti Mandhana, Grace Scrivens, Mia Rogers

All rounders: Paige Scholfield, Kathryn Bryce, Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Mady Villiers, Jo Gardner, Natasha Wraith, Rebecca Tyson, Beth Langston

Wicket keepers: Richa Ghosh

Bowlers: Sophie Ecclestone, Grace Ballinger, Maitlan Brown

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

MI London Squad

Hollie Armitage leads a squad still carrying last year’s winning core, and having Hayley Matthews available across the top order gives MI London a batting depth few sides can match. Amelia Kerr’s addition strengthens their all round options further, while Kira Chathli continues behind the stumps.

Batswomen: Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Alice Davidson-Richards, Tara Norris, Kate Coppack

All rounders: Hayley Matthews, Melie Kerr, Amelia Kerr, Hollie Armitage, Alexa Stonehouse, Chinelle Henry, Danielle Gregory

Wicket keepers: Kira Chathli, Ellie Threlkeld

Bowlers: Nicola Carey, Kirstie Gordon, Alice Monaghan, Kalea Moore, Francesca Sweet

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

Southern Brave Squad

Sophie Molineux captains a Brave side where the top order does most of the damage, and pairing Laura Wolvaardt with Jemimah Rodrigues gives them serious class against pace and spin alike. Issy Wong’s new ball threat is what ties this squad’s bowling attack together.

Batswomen: Maia Bouchier, Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah Rodrigues, Lizelle Lee, Naomi Dattani

All rounders: Sophie Molineux, Jodi Grewcock, Daisy Gibb, Ellie Anderson, Katherine Fraser

Wicket keepers: Phoebe Franklin, Rebecca Odgers

Bowlers: Lauren Bell, Issy Wong, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Sarah Glenn

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

Sunrisers Leeds Squad

Danielle Gibson leads the defending champions back into action, and Leeds haven’t lost much of the squad that got them over the line last year. Annabel Sutherland and Jess Jonassen give them genuine all round balance, while Kate Cross remains a proven new ball option with the seam.

Batswomen: Phoebe Litchfield, Bryony Smith, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Sophia Turner, Emily Windsor, Katie Jones, Chloe Skelton

All rounders: Danielle Gibson, Annabel Sutherland, Jess Jonassen, Deepti Sharma, Darcey Carter, Florence Miller

Wicket keepers: Hannah Baker

Bowlers: Cassidy McCarthy, Kate Cross, Claudie Cooper

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

Trent Rockets Squad

Ashleigh Gardner takes charge of a Rockets side built around two of the most destructive batters in the women’s game, with Beth Mooney and Nat Sciver-Brunt both capable of taking any attack apart. Katie Levick’s leg spin gives them control in the middle overs when the powerplay hitting settles down.

Batswomen: Beth Mooney, Sophia Dunkley, Ailsa Lister, Georgia Adams, Charley Phillips, Eve Jones

All rounders: Nat Sciver-Brunt, Ash Gardner, Kim Garth, Emma Jones, Georgia Elwiss, Samantha Bates, Amu Surenkumar, Sophie Munro

Wicket keepers: Bess Heath

Bowlers: Katie Levick, Millicent Taylor

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

Welsh Fire Squad

Sophie Devine’s leadership gives Fire a settled look at the top, and Freya Kemp’s all round contribution has quietly become one of the squad’s most important assets. Georgia Wareham adds control with the ball, while the middle order carries enough depth to cover a wobble at the top.

Batswomen: Georgia Voll, Sophia Smale, Grace Thompson, Niamh Holland, Georgia Davis

All rounders: Sophie Devine, Freya Kemp, Em Arlott, Georgia Wareham, Heather Graham, Fi Morris, Grace Potts

Wicket keepers: Sarah Bryce, Abi Norgrove

Bowlers: Ella McCaughan, Rhianna Southby

Coaches: Not yet officially confirmed by the club at time of writing.

Danielle Gibson Leads Sunrisers Leeds’ Defence of Their Hundred Crown

Eight squads, one returning champion, and a competition where the gap between the top sides looks tighter than ever. Sunrisers Leeds start as the team to beat, but Manchester Super Giants and MI London both have the batting depth to disrupt that defence. Cricket Insider UK will be following every result as the group stage plays out on the way to finals day on August 16.
